Why do I have to keep telling the story over and over?

Telling your story helps your brain process what happened in pieces over time. Each time you share it, you may understand it a little differently.

Is it okay to say their name out loud?

Yes, saying their name helps keep your connection and memory of them alive. It also lets others know it is safe to talk about them too.

Why does writing or journaling help?

Writing gives your thoughts and feelings a place to exist outside your mind. It can help you sort through emotions that feel too big to hold inside.

Is it okay to laugh or feel happy again?

Yes, feeling joy does not mean you are forgetting them. Grief and happiness can exist together at the same time.
